Faridah , Country Manager Malaysia and Singapore. Faridah
is the Managing Director of The Writers' Publishing House Sdn
Bhd. She is the founder of Malaysia's first magazine for men,
Men's Review, a magazine that some have credited with opening
up a whole new genre of publishing in Malaysia and which had
a reputation of high quality and risqu?attitude. [As an idea:
Perceptions of MR in its early days were in the `Skating On
Thin Ice' (Far Eastern Economic Review, August 1994) and `Not
Just Selling Sex' (Newsweek, October 1994) vein.] However, Faridah
says the magazine's early high profile "Wasn't my doing so much
as that of the incredible talent Malaysia has to offer". MR
was sold last year and, since then, the company has diversified
to provide a wide array of related media and communications
services including editorial (in various languages), contract
publishing, graphic design, printing and production, marketing,
event management, communications, distribution and circulation
management. Based in Malaysia, Faridah has a BA in Politics
from Monash University in Australia, and a Law degree from the
University of London. (For more information, go to www.writers.com.my)
